Project 5 Task 1

I am taking a class on including the Google apps in the classroom setting.  One of the assignments is to write a brief blog about the benefits of blogging for students. To start, our school does not utilize these great and free Google apps, including Blogger.  It would save us money and time if we did.  It is about time we go Google.


Blogger (as you know if you are reading this blog on blogger) enables students or teachers or anyone in the world to create a blog and write about a topic.  This would be an excellent resource for students to write book reviews, thoughts on a current book that is discussed in class, tracking current events, or any other idea.  It is a great tool to allow students to express themselves and speak to a wider audience.  It is often difficult for students and more mature writers to grasp the idea of writing to an audience.  Blogger makes the audience more concrete and gives them a chance to respond.  I also like blogger because it works well to include multimedia features.  It will inspire students as they get comments and view their readership statistics increasing. 


Anytime a student is writing and processing their thoughts through the written word, it is a good step.  And this is a excellent tool to get the students to take that step.
